Internet Soul Music Station

Grant TaylorI first started to take an interest in music when I was 8 back in 1979. The Ska/Two Tone revolution became a way of life, and I've still got all of my old 7s now!! As a 17yr old in the Summer of 1989, Soul II Soul exploded with Back To Life and UK Street Soul seemed to take over the world. This was the trigger that started me off buying records.

A few years later, a friend of mine took me to Crazy Beat Records and thus Soul Music became an obsession! Most Saturday afternoons in the 90s were spent listening, talking about & buying music. I started to get out to a few Soul nights such as Soul Heaven in Rainham, Queens of Soul in Grays & The Goldmine Re-unions in Canvey. This eventually lead to me following the well trode path down the A12 to Great Yarmouth. My first Caister Soul Weekender was in May 1998, life was never the same again! What a place!

I started to DJ myself around this time, mainly playing at parties & halls, trying to get as much Soul into every set as I could get away with! I continued until 2003 when I moved to the North East and gave the DJing & Caister a rest for a while, returning for good in 2008. Since then I have started playing at a few Soul Nights in Newcastle and haven't looked back!

My Style is mainly Modern Soul from the 70s through till 2011, you'll also find me playing a lot of Jazzy stuff and Soulful House, a proper mixture. Hope you enjoy the show, I'm sure I'll see a fair few of you at Caister in the near future.
