I grew up in the West Midlands listening to my older brothers playing their Northern Soul music. When I was old enough and had enough money to buy my own I purchased a load of records from Max's store in Bilston and so began my obsession with music! Although my early grounding was in Northern Soul I also enjoyed listening to groups like Maze and The Whispers.

I joined the RAF at 16. My first posting was RAF Wyton Cambridgeshire where I was fortunate enough to be given my own radio show on Radio Wyton which broadcast across the whole Base. I also used to do the regular Thursday night disco in the Skyway club which was just like a night club really. From there I went to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus for whilst there I did some work on BFBS Radio. My final posting was RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.

During my time there in the early eighties I helped build the disco and also presented some of the discos on Thursday night if I wasn't too drunk!!!!!!!!

Nowadays my main music taste is Northern and 80's Soul, boogie and 80's club classics, such as Dayton, BB&Q Band and Change.

Caz and I have listened to Soulconnexion Radio for over two years now and I'm very pleased to be able to join a fantastic team.
